Use a torque screwdriver to ensure that the insert is securely seated. Change the insert screw regularly and ensure that the tip seat is clean and free from obstructions which could offset the insert.
Drilling safety precautions
When drilling through holes with an indexable insert drill, a disc is formed, which can be ejected at high speed. Recommendation – enclose chuck or machine.
