The first global manufacturing wellness report

The finding that stands out
Most manufacturers know what good looks like. But if the average manufacturing wellness score sits at 49 out of 100 across nearly 1,000 respondents, it's worth asking: what does that gap represent? Real momentum in the industry, or real distance still to travel?
Nearly 1 in 4 organizations has no access to manufacturing or process-related data. Almost half don't have a clear understanding of the performance targets set for their own teams. And while collaboration with external partners scores highest across the industry, sustainability scores lowest — suggesting that circularity is still something manufacturers aspire to rather than something built into how they actually operate.
The data also reveals significant differences by company size, with implications for how manufacturers of different scales approach each habit. The ambition is there, but integration is still underway.
Here's an overview of how the eight habits score across the industry.

What's your score?
The report shows where the industry currently stands, but every business scores differently. Knowing your own manufacturing wellness score is the next step to identifying where your organization is building real capability and where the gaps are widening.

What manufacturing wellness means
Manufacturing wellness is a way of thinking about what a healthy, resilient manufacturing organization looks like over time — one that balances output with sustainable and responsible practices, individual performance with collective capability, and short-term efficiency with long-term stability.
At its core, it rests on eight habits and none of them operate in isolation. The organizations that perform best tend to progress across all eight because strength in one area amplifies the others, and neglect in one tends to limit the rest.
