Rough boring
The CoroBore® XL system for large diameter rough boring gives a rigid and reliable performance in larger bores and is designed to generate required hole quality and diameter. The bridges and holders enable rough boring to be completed with high productivity.
Benefits
- CoroBore® 111 four-edged standard inserts with optimized grade selection for rough boring applications
- CoroTurn® 107 and T-Max® P inserts with optimized grades and geometries for all materials
- Reliable system with rigid interfaces between head and cartridge for stable and vibration-free boring
- Large assortment of different cartridges available for a wide range of applications, such as the CoroBore® XL cartridge specifically targeting rough boring in complex materials.
- Also available as lightweight tools: CoroBore® lightweight boring tools reduce tool weight and tool change moment, making handling easier and larger diameters possible
- Also available with damped Silent Tools™ adaptors for vibration-free boring in diameter 148–300 mm (5.827–11.811 inch), even at long overhangs

Fine boring
CoroBore® XL is the first choice for large diameter fine boring. The tools can be adjusted radially in order to cover a certain diameter range with one tool. The tools allow precision adjustment in microns in order to achieve close hole tolerances.
Benefits
- CoroTurn® 107 and CoroTurn® 111 inserts with dedicated grades and geometries for all materials
- Excellent surface finish with wiper inserts
- Tool holders optimized for large diameter boring
- Available with damped Silent Tools™ adaptors for vibration-free boring in diameter 148–315 mm (5.827–12.402 inch), even at long overhangs
- Also available as lightweight tools: CoroBore® lightweight boring tools reduce tool weight and tool change moment, making handling easier and larger diameters possible

Face grooving with CoroBore® XL
Machining grooves with CoroBore® SL is a productive alternative to milling grooves. This fine-adjustable axial face grooving tool machines grooves in a large number of components and diameters.
Benefits
- Increased productivity compared to milling
- Excellent chip control thanks to internal coolant to the cutting edge
- Builds on our large assortment of standard SL32 blades and CoroCut® 1-2 system
- Radial fine-adjustable face grooving heads for pre-setting
Axial face grooving in a machining center
Interpolation turning with CoroBore® XL
Interpolation turning is a new, flexible turning method developed for advanced machining centres and B-axis multi-task machines. By using an innovative spindle option to synchronize tip position, the operation can be carried out by interpolating with the X- and Y-axis in a circular direction and rotating the machine spindle in time with the rotational contour.
Benefits
- Flexible solution, making it possible to use machining centres with modular tool set-ups instead of dedicated boring machines with W-axis facing heads
- The component can be machined completely without moving it – especially beneficial for large non-symmetrical components
- Reduced tool investment costs
