How to choose a face grooving tool
A- or B curve
Insert width (CW)
Use the widest insert and tool that can be used for your groove. A wider holder has greater stiffness and gives more stability.
Maximum cutting depth (CDX)
Always use a tool with the shortest possible cutting depth (CDX) to obtain maximum stability.
Diameter range of the first cut (DAXIN and DAXX)
Use the tool for the largest diameter that fits your groove. A tool for a larger diameter is less curved and hence more stiff and stable. It also offers improved chip control.

EasyFix™
Always use CoroCut® QI bars with EasyFix™ collets. A spring plunger mounted in the sleeve clicks into a groove in the bar to guarantee the correct center height for each tool setup. The metal seal offers good performance for coolant pressure up to 150 bar.
